Let's talk converters
In particular 200 metric stuff, 305 in a Malibu. Not positive what is in the car but I do have an ATI that I can't get them to identify for me but.... What does this combo need in real world experience. I am thinking an 8" with around 5600 flash? Am I thinking too loose? I feel like 1-2 shift should be 6100ish and maybe 6400 in 3rd? What is in it now goes 5000ish but it came out of a 350 69 camaro(more inches and HP) Will a 7" be a viable option on this combo? I know the converter companies can answer most of this but I am looking for real world data. Also rear gear is a 513(may go to 5.38) and trans is 275 low

Re: Let's talk converters
My car is similar to yours, small engine and slower class, i shift close to 7k and finish at over 7k i have 4.88 with a 26 inch tire, i need to send out my convertor i am hoping they can get it to 6k on the flash but i don't know if that is possible because engine does not make much torque.

Re: Let's talk converters
Anyone have experience with a spragless converter? I'm looking at an 8 inch from Broader Performance and have that option. Car is a 68 Mustang 302 with N351 heads and C4. SS/CS legal but run in bracket. 4:29 gears (new gears) 26 in tire for now. Ran to 7000 really fast on it's only pass last year. Want to shift at 6000-6500.

I have a 3200 lb 23 degree sbc 3.875 stroke 4.185 bore with a set of out of the box Brodix T1 heads, I did change the springs before bolting them on the engine. 10 x 28 bias tire. All steel roll up windows and chrome bumpers. It has been 1.27 60 ft and runs in the 5's 1/8. Powerglide transmission. https://i.imgur.com/1NpHcPW.jpg |

This goes for sprag converters too. I've had sprag converters in this car, one actually ran about the same et as my best spragless. Almost. |
