A better "glue" for your rim-to-slick mounting
 

Has anybody found a better adhesive than the Permatex Hi-Tack, when mounting their slicks without screws? Ive got new rims and was thinking about going screw-less. Mainly because I hate the idea of drilling on my new rims. They're bias Hoosiers 26X8's on a 15X8 rim, if that makes any difference. Usually run (about) 16lbs, for air pressure. Also, currently running tubes and toying with the idea of leaving them out, this go around. Would "that" make a difference in going screw-less or not. Thank you! I'm a bit of a newbi, when it comes to small tire stuff

I was under the impression that dry was the best. Interested also on any feedback

Have run tubeless for 20 years. Have run screw less for the last 10 years. 14 x 32's bias and radial. Just mount the tire dry. They may move a little on the first hit or two then then usually stay put.

I just have my MT radials mounted dry. No screws, etc.

If wiping 'em clean and dry is all that's needed (not the typical soap, glue, witchcraft, etc.), I'm down for that.

I use a glass cleaner, like Windex. There is a small amount of lube to help the bead set and it dries quickly.

I break and mount my slicks at home. I've had a pair of MT 10.5's where one tire was moving inches every week. broke it down, wiped bead with acetone and sprayed hair spray on the bead then aired it up. Worked great, no more slip, clean and nothing to clean up when I replaced them. That's the only tire I've ever had move and haven't used screws in years and have run Phoenix,Hoosier and MT.

I remember we use to put that on handle bar grips on our mountain bikes and they never moved. Thanks, for got about that
