Clearance piston to valve

Hi
I need information. On my B/SA 1995 Camaro with LT1. At 101.5 timing, the valve clearance to piston is .018 int and .053 on exh. It is too tight or is normal. If i back the cam at 106, i have 32 int and 36 exh. All with .039 head gasket. what you do with this?

Thank for your help

How are you measuring that ? Light checking spring, or clay, do you have a welded lifter ?

This is Roller Hydro. but I checked the lash with light spring and solid roller lifter. but i have same result with light spring and roller hydro.

Late model LT-1 minimum total deck with gasket is.062" IIRC. Your short .008" and would fail a tear down. I had one and built my own engine and had plenty of clearance with CP pistons and a Bullet cam. That cam was pretty aggressive so it seems odd to me you would have so little clearance.

Same thing I was thinking Rich.

I run with with Fel-Pro 9966 pt the thickness is .049 not .039 (it is my mistake) But it changes nothing to my question.

Rich ... you don't need to swear at me

It's been quite a while since I had that LT-1 Stocker Lee but I do recall doing that engine and being real happy I did not have to worry about a tight P-V issue. Still wish I had one as they are great fun to drive. Not fun to work on! Swear at you ? I don't have a clue as to what that statement means.
