Spring rates and wheelstands
All things unchanged with the exception being changing the REAR springs , do you believe a new spring or a stouter spring would make the car more inclined to wheelstand?
The current rear springs were USED and originals when I built the car in 93...they are mono leaf GM , Nova or Camaro circa 68-72 and have been beaten on ever since. I think its finally time for new springs. The car currently just doesnt seem to respond to shock changes or I.C. changes like it should. Floaters , ladder bars and 9 inch . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmojLlr152s Thanks in advance........:) |
Re: Spring rates and wheelstands
Longer, softer front springs have always made my cars hook harder, but also wheel stand worse.

Re: Spring rates and wheelstands
I haven't had a race car with leaf springs for so many years, I can't answer. I did have a '69 Camaro I ran C/SM with back under the original tire rules. Had mono leafs with ladder bars. Tried big block Camaro multi leafs, and it was like running on marbles.
No wheel stand problems. LOL |
