Re: Rear disc brakes for 5/8 studs
I had to drill out my Wilwood hats for the 5/8 studs for a Dana 60. I used a Unibit step drill bit.

Re: Rear disc brakes for 5/8 studs
Ken, all strange rotors are for the 5/8" studs. Strange has a sleeve to adapt to 1/2" if needed.
On the Strange web site note all the brake photos show with studs and nuts. If you scan the site for stud options you will set the 1/2" stud kits with "sleeves" I have a Strange brake kit for the Super 10 build with 5/8" studs. I installed a symmetrical end on the 12 bolt housing. |
Re: Rear disc brakes for 5/8 studs
put the 5/8 in you will never break a stud in a Stocker or LOW HP SS-- got access to a machine shop enlarge the hats to 5/8 inch-- problem solved

Re: Rear disc brakes for 5/8 studs
All the Strange rotors look like they have 10 holes of two sizes. We are talking rotors - disk hats - right? Call them.

Re: Rear disc brakes for 5/8 studs
The above post by Dale is correct. I doubled checked this morning, the rotors I have for the Super 10 have both bolt patterns.
I always find it surprising when you can look at an item yet never catch all the details. When you are looking for one specific fitment [it fit on my 5/8" studs] there was no reason to notice the second set of holes. |

Re: Rear disc brakes for 5/8 studs
Thanks guys. There picture looked like the dual rotor hat bolt pattern had 1/2 and 5/8 slotted holes machined on them for use with both sized studs and for height reductions .
