Quadrajet I.D. ?'s
I recently got an OEM Mopar small block intake - 4100340, that had a Quadrajet bolted to it. Don't know if it is original to the intake (Mopar did use them on trucks for a few years), but was wondering what it is and if it's worth anything as a core.
It's a bit dirty, but what I found so far is: * 32747 and 34712 on the secondary air doors. * 29909 on secondary throttle blades * 6058 (?) on bottom middle of baseplate between all the blades. (Date code?) * Quadrajet Mfg. by Carter for GMC on the throttle side of the body. * Pass. side has a black round adjustment with rich-lean on it. (Choke housing?) |
Re: Quadrajet I.D. ?'s
Q-jet's made by Rochester had the part number stamped on the left side of the main body. Vertically if I recall right and were always the familiar bronze color.
The Carter manufactured Q-Jets were usually greyish in color and were usually a lot softer than a Rochester carb. Screw holes stripped out very easily and they were just a poor substitute for the Rochester. I rebuilt lots of carbs in my garage days and never thought much of those carbs.... |

Darn. Just a run-of-the-mill Q-jet. Hoped I could get a few bucks out of it. Thank you!

Re: Quadrajet I.D. ?'s
I sell the truck carbs for $50 as the have Mopar linkage which is useful.
The ones before 88 are 800 and 89/90 are 750. |
