1970 Camaro Stocker
I'm converting my bracket 70 camaro in to a stocker. I'm going with the 350hp 402 combo. I'm new to stock so any info on this combo, good or bad would be great.

Re: 1970 Camaro Stocker
Welcome to stock, its a blast and a pain all at the same time. Many good running 2nd. generation camaros out there ,but none with 402 /350 that I know of. I think you would be better off with the 350/360 Z/28 (325 nhra hp) or the 350/300 (286 nhra hp) . If you dead set on running the 402 you should look at the 402/315 71 combo. Maybe contact Jim Hughes ?. He has a good running 70 Nova 402 if I am not mistaken. He raced a 70/71 camaro Z/28 also. I know that this is not much help,if I were you i would study the tech guides carefully while building the body and then decide on a engine combo. Rick.

Re: 1970 Camaro Stocker
Keith Lynch had a fair amount of success in big block 70 Camaro, however, it was a 402/375, which is still a decent combination, and what I'd run in that car if I were going to run a big block. The LT-1 is a good small block combination, and probably what I'd run if I were going to run a small block. If I were going to run a small block I'd run a 4 speed.
