Hoosier tires
When using Hoosier 30.0/9.0-15 slicks l/w radials and run them

Re: Hoosier tires
I do. But just because I bought the wheels used and they already had the holes.

Re: Hoosier tires
I've run them for years on 10" rims at 21 lbs without screws. They may move a bit initially and when I swap them side-to-side the move back a bit. Not enough to worry about and they usually settle down anyway. High HP or low tire pressures may cause issues, but just put a mark on the tire relative to the valve stem and watch for movement.

Re: Hoosier tires
I use them with no screws. When I mount them I really wipe the part of the rim where the bead sits real clean and dry with lacquer thinner and do the same to the tire.
They won't move although, later, when you go to dismount them you may have a little trouble breaking them loose. |
Re: Hoosier tires
I've never needed to use the screws on the 8-inch rims at 25 PSI, although I'm not running a "high-horsepower" combination. :D
