In small block chevy , do the cam bushing can handled the 300 lbs valve spring seat pressure and 1000 lb open?

It's not the alignment dowel that takes the load........

The correct bolt torque on the timing gear bolts pulls the gear to the face of the cam and friction causes the cam to turn......

The stock type set-up will work fine...

You mean cam bearings?

If that is your question, then the answer is yes, they will. You do however need to use a real race bearing, preferably a coated bearing. The stock rebuilder/replacement bearings are often not up to the task.


I use the Dura-Bond CHP-8-T.

Hope that tells you what you want to know. Honestly, if your block will take it, you should consider at least a big block cam journal core, if not a 54MM or 55MM core.
