valve spring /vs/ cam bushing
In small block chevy , do the cam bushing can handled the 300 lbs valve spring seat pressure and 1000 lb open?
any input , thank! |
Re: valve spring /vs/ cam bushing
It's not the alignment dowel that takes the load........
The correct bolt torque on the timing gear bolts pulls the gear to the face of the cam and friction causes the cam to turn...... The stock type set-up will work fine... |

Sorrry, I am talking of the cam bushing in the block?
Thank, |
Re: valve spring /vs/ cam bushing
You mean cam bearings?
If that is your question, then the answer is yes, they will. You do however need to use a real race bearing, preferably a coated bearing. The stock rebuilder/replacement bearings are often not up to the task. I use the Dura-Bond CHP-8-T. |
