Hole in throttle plate?
I have a .125 hole drilled in the throttle plate (throttle body) of my box manifold.
It idles aroud 2000 rpms. I thought it was needed due to the cams I'm running. I put the individual throttle body manifold on and the car idles at 800 rpms so it isn't the cams. The most I can get for vacuum with the box is 70 kpa, the ITB's idle at 50 kpa. I want to close the hole up in the throttle plate. What is the best way to do it? |
Re: Hole in throttle plate?
Art, if it idles down to 800, why do you need to plug holes in the throttle blades?

Re: Hole in throttle plate?
This is the single throttle body, not the ITB's. The ITB's idle fine with no holes
I didn't put the hole in the throttle plate. I bought the caravan manifold with the throttle body on it. |
Re: Hole in throttle plate?
there is a kit from ford that has a bunch of plugs and a tool to install them. i have it at work. when i get back from vegas on the 29th i can send you some of the plugs if you would like.

Art,
Anyone that is good with a TIG welder should be able to weld it shut for you. It will take loner to turn the welder on and put on a helmet than doing the actual welding. |
