OK, I can't get in touch with the guy that usually does my work.
I have had a well known shop do a bump steer and toe steer modification to my 1986 Camaro I run in SS. It cam back to me with the frontend out of adjustment. (not too happy about that) It has some lamb repalcement for stock struts on the front end and the travel is limited. All stock man steering w/drag link dampener.... I have a local guy that has a nice machine that can align it. I just need some specs. Toe, C&C..what works? Any tricks or things I should be aware of?

Adger, we run about 7-8 degrees of positive caster, about zero degrees of camber at around 2-3" above static ride height (to allow for attitude change under acceleration) and around 1//8" to 1/16" of toe in.

No Adger, that's on the two 1st gen 69's.


Really shouldn't matter, it keeps bump steer to a minimum, makes it go straight at speed, and keeps rolling resistance down. That's what makes the car work well and drive easy.

The only thing you'd want to check is how that camber setting effects your camber change through travel, to make sure it doesn't do something stupid.

Stock settings work fine. As far as jacking up to set alignment, car should be setup sitting at the same attitude it goes through the traps. Our car is set at 3* positve caster 3/4* positive camber 1/8 * toe in. ...Thanx Trevor

Specs from a couple of top chassis builders: 0 camber, 1/16-1/8 toe in and all the caster you can get as long as even from side to side. All this is at ride height at speed.

With "all the Caster you can get"... how does a car handle when you get on the brakes -Hard- at the finish line to scrub off ET or drop the front spoiler to trip the beams. I've always thought a lot of caster (too much) causes steering problems when you are hard on the brakes.
