New S/SS legal Carbs

QFT CARBS NOW STOCK/SS LEGAL
Written by CompetitionPlus Wednesday, 30 June 2010 09:00

The all-new Quick Fuel Technology (QFT) Super Stock Racing (SSR) carburetor, a new cast-aluminum SSR carb, has been approved by the NHRA for use in Super Stock and Stock. The engineers at QFT designed the SSR carbs to the same dimensions and specs of the original counterparts and guidelines in the NHRA rulebook.

The SSR carb is lightweight, easy to tune and simple to modify for multiple applications. QFT has been there for the racers since day one and continues to help the racer improve performance while reducing costs. The first carb available and legal at NHRA events is the 780-cfm model with vacuum secondaries (SSR-780-VS). QFT is continuing to develop more class specific carbs to add to the SSR line. Every SSR carb is hand-built and engine tested in-house before it is shipped.

I'm trying to figure it out too. I've been all over their website and it looks like they have stock or smaller than stock venturi and throttle bores. They are no where close to the sizes on the NHRA approved list. It may be a case of what is on the website is not what has been approved.
clarification needed

Site not updated yet , there is a part # for the 780 nhra S & SS carb and there was a picture in another thread of the legal carb with choke horn. They are going to do other carbs too. Nhra also posted the info.

As to the issue of 4 corner idle screws I can say the DC 750 and 780carbs I've run in some of the SS and Comp classe listed above has always passed w/4 corner when setting records. The rest of the SS and stock classes I have no idea if the 4 corner idle is legal. A while ago I had my DC 780 for sale and the only issue was the choke plate and the choke mechanisim that had been removed. I think the racer had a Ford Stocker he wanted to use it on. Travis.. any comments?
