IHRA Crate Motor Classification

When you are determining the base class for a crate motor car, which shipping weight do you use....lowest, highest, your choice? In particular, I am trying to determine the class for a 97 Camaro with the 350/330/340 Vortec motor.

I think you have to use the heaviest V-8 shipping weight for the body style you claim.

Actually, I believe if you run a small block, use the heaviest small block shipping weight. Run a big block, use the heaviest big block weight. Or use the heaviest weight available if the car was only available with a 6 cyl. or small block.

It will fit G @3230lbs if my math is correct.

I came up with 9.59 lbs/hp (3262 lbs / 340 hp) which should make it a natural H/CM. But it is entirely possible that I am figuring it wrong.
