Adhesive backed? A heat gun, or elec hairdryer. Should peel right off. Then use "Goo-Gone" to remove any remaining residue. Goo-Gone is a citrus-based household solvent that will not affect automotive finishes. WJ

Oh yeah, heat them up with a hair dryer, slowly peal them off, then use WD40 or CRC and a clean towel to remove the goo left behind. (old school). Jim

Hair dryer works great for me too. Be sure car has been sitting in a warm garage and sheet metal is room temperature, helps prevent pulling decals along with the paint.

Heat gun or CRC work good........Found a product called Goo Gone that works real good on some of the more stubborn ones, usually the laminated type ,it's citrus based, and dosnt hurt the paint. .......Tom..........OOPS,I did'nt see your post WJ.

How about removal of the old style decals? The ones that we used to put into a pan of lukewarm water and slide them off the paper backing, then apply them and squeeqe out the water bubbles....I know on glass it's a simple deal w/razor blade for removal, but what about removal of this style decal off lower (painted surface) body panels, etc.??? Any "senior racer" tricks for these???;) WJ

In the autobody industry we use a rotary rubber eraser tool for large decals, if used carefully no paint lifting and a just a little polish on the paint for the rubber residue

Any autobody shop should have those, some people call them plastic razor blades. Use a heat gun to get the glue good and pliable, than use the 'razor blade' to scrape the sticker off if necessary. Goo Gone like mentioned above is good for the residue. Easiest possible way to do the job.
