Stick car Question?

Hey guys, got a quick question bout tire pressure.
My mustang weighs 2995 with me in it, I run a 26x10x15 Et Drag, Mild 302, Stock T-5 tranny, ford HD clutch, 8.8 rear with 4.30 gears.
Well the car seems to hook pretty decent but im worried Im not running enough tire pressure. I run them right aorund the 9 lbs mark and they seem to squish right down to the rim. I got one guy tellin me not to worry thats the way they work, and then a couple tellin me to run them at 11-12 im stumped!

Justin,

My dad always told me to keep raising the pressure till your 60's go down or you start to spin.

Are you asking if 9lbs. is unsafe or will your car pick up with more pressure? Only experimentation will answer the last question. I've went as low as 6lbs in some tires before.

I have the same basic combo, but I'm making a more HP than yourself. I have always ran 12lbs of pressure on a set of brand new slicks, and as they got older, I went down to 11 and as much as 10.5lbs. If you go any lower than that your car will be walking around on the big end!!! Also you will be bogging the engine alot with to little air in the tires. Those little motors dont recover from a bad bogg!!

I agree, put more in until you 60 starts to go away. with that tire and my automatic, I ran up to 16 lbs.
