Power valves and Throttle Stops

Does anyone use power valves in their throttle-stop carb? Is there a good reason to not use one? I have a problem, when the carb is jetted for max MPH, it doesn't come up on the brake cleanly on the starting line, even with small squirters. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am not a carb expert but I have never run a power valve to throttle stop race. What size motor & carb are you using, does it have air bleeds that you can change? Mine is a 565 with a 1050 dominator. I jet it for mph & have to richen up the mid range air bleed for the stop. I use 42 or 45 squitters.
