Decided to run modified super stock
Can I run dry sump system and is there a restriction on fuel ? Thanks Bob |

Unless something has changed the MX classes are the only ones you can run a dry sump in. Fuels, there is an accepted list on NHRA's site I believe.

Dwight is right. Get a rule book. Dry sump permitted in SS/MX only. Fuel options and restrictions. Plan, plan, and plan some more. Good luck.

Either an internal wet-sump oil pump or an external, single-stage oil pump is all that is allowed.

All those classes follow SS rules with exceptions listed separately in the book. Dry sump is allowed in SS/ES, SS/FS and SS/GS which are 4 cylinder classes. Read the rules line by line and ask questions. Best suggestion is to find a racer running your engine build in your chosen category. That will take a lot of the guesswork out of the process for you. |
