Hydraulic throwout bearing in SS
Anyone have good or bad thoughts or experiences on hydraulic TOB's in a clutchless SS car. I have used one in Lenco/bracket application but don't know of any in SS. Sure would be nice to not have all that linkage. With only needing it on the launch I don't see a problem. I think a positive stop would allow for a constant air gap setting.

i was informed that i COULD NOT convert (by NHRA) from mechanical linkage to hydraulic in my rambler.
would have made my life easier... can't tell ya about SS though.. |

I have a hard enough time having a consistant R/T without having the car throw another variable at me for the R/T. Take the time to build a good linkage and you will not regret it! |

What are the stick '93/'02 GM F body cars using? They came hydraulic, but a lot of guys have trouble with that on modified street cars.

Re: Hydraulic throwout bearing in SS
I went through this with nhra in my fwd ss. It was a factory part and I had used it for while when some guy back east wanted to use it in his 409 car. They said no, and my name came up. Next race we all had a talk after a lot of pic. They gave me the ok because it was a factory part and I used a late model corvete slave cyl. and throw out bearing. I don't know what they are using in those late model cars, but they come with hyd.
