Careful transporting fuel ... I believe over 15 gallons (inc fuel cell) requires DOT placard and DOT rules ...

I picked up two 55 gallon drums of fuel a few months ago for some friends. I was told this was totally legal, AND, I could have taken two more drum of Alky to go along with that race fuel since they have different numbers on the tag indicating what was in the drum. I was told there is a weight limit, not a gallon limit. Also was told I could legally transport up to 900 pounds of radioactive materials without a permit........... But like most things, when the State and Federal Government gets involved, things get messed-up! Some states require a CDL for our tow rigs, others don't. Would be nice to have common laws across the country, but that will never happen. |
