Careful transporting fuel ... I believe over 15 gallons (inc fuel cell) requires DOT placard and DOT rules ...

What is the most common Sunoco and VP fuel carried at tracks?
I do not see Sunoco 260 GTX much at all.

Not sure if this varies by state.

I picked up two 55 gallon drums of fuel a few months ago for some friends. I was told this was totally legal, AND, I could have taken two more drum of Alky to go along with that race fuel since they have different numbers on the tag indicating what was in the drum. I was told there is a weight limit, not a gallon limit.

Also was told I could legally transport up to 900 pounds of radioactive materials without a permit...........

But like most things, when the State and Federal Government gets involved, things get messed-up! Some states require a CDL for our tow rigs, others don't. Would be nice to have common laws across the country, but that will never happen.

My toter holds 100 gallons of fuel so I doubt they would care about 15 gallons of gasoline. I do haul it in the VP 5 gallon steel containers. I also have a 25 gallon gas tank for the generator in the trailer, Sometimes I carry a couple of 5 gallon containers of Non Ethanol gas for the golf cart and the small suitcase generator.

Everything I have ever found says that placarding is not required if the total weight of the fuel is under 440 lbs and packaged in containers less than 8 gallons.

I ordered this fuel locally and it took over 2 months to show up. VP C10 is easier to get at least here.

CFR49 states that hazardous materials placards applies to shipping companies and drivers hauling commerce. It does not apply to private individuals.

Now I heard that if you used some 1,4 dioxane.......well, that is another story. LOL

1,4 dioxane acts like an ether. It will pass the fuel check ?

Why do fuels change one day as legal!
Later does not pass?
What fuel blends tend to fail the most?
