Default What was the way to listening a NHRA event back in 1973?

Simple: have a cup of coffee, have your copy of National Dragster NHRA Winternationals results edition, put this Winternationals LP on your stereo player and pop-up the volume… then dreams came to life…

I don't think I ever saw that one, but I did have a couple of 33rpm albums of west coast drag racing in the mid '60's. The sound was quite primitive, but I sure wish I still had them!

Was at Indy in 72 camping at the track and listened to class eliminations on the local radio station while eating breakfast. That was one awesome Labor Day weekend!

Live stream of the announcer deck audio feed at Nationals, back when it was included as part of the membership package, was the best. I would have it on nonstop in the shop.

Spent 5 days at Indy in 1969. Sleeping in a sleeping bag ON THE GROUND, No shower. Matter of fact we got a bar of soap and laid under a water faucet and took a shower. . Fond memories but sure glad I don't do that now. Was young and really at that age didn't give a $%^# for a lot. Did have a pretty bad 66 Biscayne, 427/425 and that was my baby.
As far as I know there was NO RADIO Stations except the one at the track which reached maybe a mile away.
