Re: 302 fffords
I counted possibility of about 35 class winners at indy, that's excluding singles for class (leaving combo's). You would certainly get more diversity if class winners automatically got in elims. Fill rest of field with top qualifiers, then you might gets some heads up action!

Re: 302 fffords
I count 65 classes in Stock.
I think what they don’t want is to have 1 car in class be able to get into the eliminator if per say he only runs 3 under when other cars go 85 under and don’t get in. Kinda of a double edge sword.

Let's be honest here, there are certain Classes that have combos in them that can go much faster than the combos available in other Classes so why should a Racer who wins his Class be "bounced" out of the field by a 1ST RD loser from a different Class? No matter HOW fast he goes against the index.

Re: 302 fffords
You might be right, Pete , but nobody told anyone that they had to build an A/SA "chaser" car. If they didn't get in by winning class, who's fault would it be ?

However if only 1 car in class, than i think it’s up for debate if he should get in, unless they made a rule saying that car has to run at least 8 under their index.

Re: 302 fffords
If their is only 1 car in the class it would go into the combo be it stick or auto.So the winner of each combo would get in?. gsa612

Re: 302 fffords
I agree with Billy and Mark. In many classes there is nothing that fits the class that could possibly run .90 under the index.
