The old timer that told me that info also said they were bigger in the bowl area so he was right about that part. Was thinking that maybe back in the day when gm ran a line of fleet vehicles maybe police and taxi were the same.

I know that doesn't mean they don't exist. I have a couple of 041 heads - No X ! The 461 X head got all the notoriety because the intake runners were larger. Many people then thought that held true for all other castings with an X designation. The only way to be absolutely sure is to CC them yourself ! There is way too much hear say information out there.
