Default Drive by wire in foot brake class

My grandson has started racing his grandmas 2011 Lexus GS350.
He was very successful in Jr dragsters.
His RT are all over the place with the lexus. While at the drags last Saturday a buddy mentioned the successful drive by wire racers are using a device that plugs into the factory throttle wire loom and allows the throttle response to be changed. (Roar pedal)
This got me to thinking is fly by wire inconsistent in applying the throttle body? Does anyone here have any real world experience with this drive by wire modification?

Is he leaving from idle? I raced a chrysler 300 6 cylinder and a magnum srt8. I would be at 1100 to 1500rpm. Response was very normal then. The commander box gives a more of a instant feel.

Hey Jeff I've been trying to get him to power brake, but he is still learning how to get the feel of it.
I am wondering how consistently the factory throttle sensors work from an idle, and if there are other inputs to the ECU that effect throttle opening and acceleration.

I have Drive by Wire on My now Super Stock Cobra-Jet.

My car is a stick shift and I leave with the 2 step activated and the pedal on the floor.

I have worked with a lot of racers on EFI systems. Many have complained about the delay or slow response when whacking the throttle on foot brake cars with automatic transmissions and Drive by Wire.

For that reason I don't recommend Drive by Wire when asked.

A pedal enhancer might help.

Get him a race car Grandpa!
