Default 3rd Annual Dave Stine Memorial - July 22nd & 23rd

We are back for a 3rd year for the Dave Stine Memorial presented by Roadrunner Race Fuels to be held on July 22nd & 23rd at Maple Grove Raceway. We decided instead of one big dollar event for the .90 crews that we would split them over Sat & Sun to give you all a shot at twice the chance to win some big money over two days. The entry fee is equal to what it costs to enter a National Event for 2 days and there will be no quotas, just show up, race and have some fun. As we add sponsors to the event the purse could go up but, the entry will not!

Schedule of Events:
Friday, July 21st, 2023
Parking – 3pm til 10pm
Track Operated Test & Tune – 5pm till 10pm for $50. This is an open T&T and run by the track, there will be NO High Roller races, etc that night.

Entry Fee:
Friday T&T - $50
Friday Crew: $15 - Even if you are coming to park, you will be charged a spectator fee.
Saturday Crew / Spectators: $15.00
Sunday Crew / Spectators: $15.00
3 Day Pass (Fri-Sun) - $40.00
2-day Pass (Sat & Sun) - $30.00

Saturday, July 22nd, 2023
Gates Open: 7am
Racing will start with Juniors at 8:30am
Rotation:
Top 32 Series only qualifies and Bad 8 on Saturdays - Fields will be set & Elims are to be run on Sunday for them
Juniors – Q1

Super Street (TT1)
Super Comp (TT1)
Top Sportsman (TT1)
Super Pro (TT1)
Super Gas (TT1)
Top Dragster (TT1)
Juniors, Super Comp, Gas & Street will get 2 TT before eliminations
Pro & Super will have 1 TT as they have Buybacks after R1

Racers BBQ to start at 6pm and Band to come on around 8:30pm - Might do a band Friday Night also.

Payouts per Day: Unfortunately, we did have to base this on car counts this year, paying out $10,000 to small car counts was kind of sad to say the least.

Based on 40 Cars
W: $3,000
RUP: $1,000

50 Cars:
W: $4,000

Smile Re: 3rd Annual Dave Stine Memorial - July 22nd & 23rd

As we did last year, we will offer up a few Raffles (Waffles as they are called on FB) for a 2-day entry into the Dave Stine for 2023 ($340 value). We will be kicking this off on Monday the 6th for $25 for 25 spots. We are going to try and do at least 10 of them before the July event but, if things are slower or quicker we will add more and also offer Racers at the .90 races chances to do some on their own.

If you want a spot please reach out to me via Text at 856-332–2851 or email rob@midatlanticsuperseries.org. I wanted to make sure I got this posted on here before it went live to give everyone a fair shot

Go over to the Facebook sites to register or shoot me a message and I will provide Venmo / PayPal info.

We are less then 50 days away till we kick open the doors for this great event. Unlike last year and doing one big day of money we split it over 2 days and 2 races. This means at 64 cars per class you could go home with $5,000 to win each day! The more cars, the more $$$$. Really hope to see everyone come out and support this event, I have been working hard on spreading the word. I also worked on the rotation for the days, the plan is to try to give everyone 2 TT and into eliminations for Saturday and 1 TT on Sunday due to the curfew of 8pm. The good part is we are looking at a July date and the sun setting at 8:30 at night unlike the two previous years of May & September where is got a little chilly when the sun went down.

Default Re: 3rd Annual Dave Stine Memorial - July 22nd & 23rd

We are 10 days away till we kick off this event. This is the 3rd Annual event being held at Maple Grove Raceway being put together by the Stine / Stricker family and with my team as the organizers of the event being held at Maple Grove.

We do have some adjustments from the previous years of this event, so please listen up. All ENTRY FEES will be collected at the GATE, nothing will be paid to my team for this event, the Only thing collected by us is buybacks for Super Pro / Pro, 2nd Chance Juniors and if you want to do a Calcutta in the .90 classes (Optional). So, if the weather looks bad or you break something, you must go to the ticket booth to get a refund. Please, I beg you PLEASE DON'T wait till weeks later and tell me you didn't get a refund and want me to go get it for you like some did last year.

You can use CASH or CREDIT CARD for entry for this race only but, please note CC will include the % fee on them.

For those of you who are not on Facebook or any Social Media, thanks to Tom Stalba and AA Auto Salvage, Saturday's event WILL PAY A Guaranteed $5,000 to the winners in Super Comp, Gas & Street with no minimum car count needed for only $170 entry fee per race.

Here is the detailed schedule:
Friday, July 21st, 2023
Gates Open at 3pm
Racers coming for the weekend WILL BE CHARGED A FRIDAY NIGHT SPECTATOR FEE of $15.00 from 3pm to 8:30pm
FROM 8:30 TO 9PM THERE WILL BE NO FEE CHARGED TO COME IN, GATES WILL CLOSE AT 9PM SHARP! So after 9pm you will need to stack outside. YOU MUST PURCHASE YOUR WEEKEND PASS THEN!
Friday Night is just a normal Nitro Fish Test & Tune, no special high roller races, shootouts, etc. This will be for $50 and be run with regular street cars, etc, etc. ANY QUESTIONS FOR THAT NIGHT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED TO THE TRACK NOT MYSELF!
We will have a Band playing from 8pm to 11pm more likely in the Food Pavilion Area so once you get settled in please come on over and hang out!
If you come on Friday Night, please go through TECH for the weekend to free up some time on Saturday AM.

Saturday, July 22nd
Gates Open at 7am - Car Show from 11am to 5pm
TECH WILL HAVE TO HAVE CAR, DRIVER AND TECH CARD BROUGHT TO THE SHACK
Juniors will be on track at 8:30am for Q1
Pro
Super Street
Super Pro
Super Gas
Super Comp
I did what I could to break up people running two classes but, it's not very easy. We will make Every effort to run 2 qualifiers for the .90 cars on Saturday but, when we call you, we need you to the lanes, there will be no clean up runs! First round will be random pairs with bye run to closest to the index after qualifying, ladders for R2 with coin flip for lane choice. Top & Top will run Q1 & Q2 a little later in the day as we want to get a bulk of the racers into eliminations as Top is only qualifying / Bad 8 race on Saturday.

Racers BBQ will start around 6pm which is the Pig Roast done by the Stine Family, please if you would like to bring a side dish we would love for you to do so!
We will also have a Band starting at / around 8pm so if you are not racing, please stop on by and watch the band.

Sunday, July 23rd
Gates Open at 7am
Juniors will be on track at 8:45am for Q1
Pro
Super Street
Super Gas
Top Sportsman
Super Pro
Top Dragster
Super Comp

1 qualifier only for Sunday as we have a 8pm curfew at the track.

Just wanted to drop a sincere thank you to Rob and the Mid-Atlantic .90 Association team for a great weekend! This was my first race back after 16 years away and the 'unknown' was definitely out there. Pulling through the gate, all of the wonderful and exciting memories flowed back. Started seeing familiar faces from my D1 days and then the first call to the lanes....BUTTERFLIES....but once there, the camaraderie and talk was just as I remembered from years long since passed and we settled in.

The car was spot on and responded to all the adjustments...ended up losing 1st rd on Saturday by .002.
Back on Sunday and lost to Keith by .0200 (too much stripe) in a very tight race (well, tight for my 2nd race back).

All in all a very successful weekend and reacclimated back to the sport we love. See you all at the Maple Grove Divisional!

Default Re: 3rd Annual Dave Stine Memorial - July 22nd & 23rd

Thanks Pete for the kind words! We truly do try to make the racers feel as if they are home when they come into the gate! Hopefully you can make the Pig roast in a few weeks, a little closer to you in VA.

It's taken a few days for me to fully recover from this past weekend's events. To say the words amazement would come to mind. With 7 total classes (TD & TS Combo, SST, SG, SC, Juniors, Pro & Super Pro) we had 373 total cars for Saturday & 303 for Sunday. We made it down to the finals in 3 classes on Saturday (Giving 2 TT to all the .90 classes) but, hit the hard 11pm curfew and moved them to Sunday except Super Pro who decided to split. We basically did 2 smaller divisional races in 2 days and finished both of them.

As far as the future goes, I try not to be negative and would love to say the .90 portion was great and I really do appreciate EVERY RACER who attended. We know times are tough, gas is high and tracks are closing left and right. I was told that last year the $250 entry to win $12,500 was too high so I figured for $170 entry to win $5,000 guaranteed we would have had us packed out to the sand trap but, it fell short yet again on a picture-perfect weekend...nobody could blame the forecast or rain this year. We did have racers as far as Florida, Virginia, South Carolina and Wisconsion all attend this weekend so thank you for traveling to attend this great event, I hope you all had fun!

I have sat back the past 4 days and talked with my crew about the future and the one thing they say to me is "I don't blame you if you decide to not do another big $$$ race after this year". Maybe next year we do a $225 entry for $2,000 to win and a Wally because that seems to be what everyone wants. I wish I had the answer but, I appreciate you all that came out and supported these events. I can probably say that if there is another Dave Stine or .90 Nationals that we will go back to a simple format of pro-rated on the payouts. I have tried for 3 years to give you all what you wanted with the payouts, the D1 fee goes up $25 people are texting me, calling me, screaming and hollering that they are done with D1 races but, still show up. We have tried everything from $10,000 / $5,000 in 2021 to $12,500 / $10,000 to win in 2022 to $5,000 to win in 2023 and the car counts were just not there except maybe year 1. I am Definity not a "sky is falling" type of person because I know there is plenty of .90 racers out there and willing to travel, maybe the announcement of MG having another D1 race made people stay away because now they are planning to be there in 2 weeks (Hope it don't rain). I can say if Atco closing wasn't a wakeup call that we're going to need to travel, we need to support every track owner, we need to start supporting promoters who are risking their own livelihood to put events on for you the racers then it might be time to call it a career or go bracket racing.

Trust me, I know a lot of my loyal people I spoke with had said that they had previous plans because before the news dropped that Atco was closing it was MG, Atco, Atco, Cecil for many in the .90 world and with it being a non-points event they decided to watch the wallet and go on vacation or stay home.

I don't know what the answer is and would love some feedback cause we all shook our heads when IHRA did it, got no support and some of you I spoke with still hold grudges against the NHRA racers for not attending the $5,000 to win races at MIR and other tracks.
