Eliminations found 70 racers make the first round call. One of the parings found 2019 Champion Brad Ross paired with the '68 Dart of Joe Ewing. Being last years Champion , Brad had the KB Trailers Buckeye Bounty placed on him. The '68 Barracuda of Ross fell to the Joe Ewing car earning Joe $100.

The Parsons & Myers Racing Engines Best First Round LOSING Package was won by Ed McCormick driving his familiar H/SA Nova called "Bossa Nova" . $100 cash even when losing the first round.

Picking up the racing in the Quarter final round there was John Frech over the '63 Plymouth of Rick Newmeyer and Ken Witcher over the wheelstanding '69 Camaro Super Stocker of Joe Galucci. Jeff Ross had the Bye into the next round.

Semi's the Bye into the final going to John Frech in his GT/MA Camaro and Witcher and Ross doing battle. Ross was .002 to Witcher's .001. Witcher was dead on .007 for a .008 package that Ross could not get into.

The Final was Witcher's Camaro and the John Frech Chevy. With only .003 between them with respect to reactions John Frech was victorious over Witchers Camaro, 11.04 to 11.42.

Also of note, on Saturday we had nineteen new racers that have never raced with the Buckeye S/SS series. Thanks to them and everyone that made the day great.

Buckeye Stock/SuperStock "Summer Smack Down" @ Dragway 42 Sunday June 21st.

Winning the $100 from Mid Ohio Paving for the Dial for Dollars program was Randy Running in his Super Stock Pontiac Firebird.

Forty seven cars answered the first round with John Nechiporchik wining the Best First Round Losing package that is sponsored by Parsons & Myers Racing Engines of Dayton, Ohio. $100 helped take the sting out of the early exit for John.

Round four saw six racers battle. Rick Newmeyer was victorious over Jeff Kovalik driving his B/SA Six Pack Challenger. Brian Merkle was .0002 in his B/SA Firebird ending Jeff Day's quest for the win in his AA/SA '64 Plymouth.Matt Antrobius had a slight starting line advantage but broke out staying ahead of the ever hot John Frech.

With Frech again getting the lucky bye to the final that left Newmeyer to slug it out with Brian Merkle. Newmeyer was solid with a .014 light as both drivers were .03 over their dial in sending the Firebird home for the weekend.

With John Frech in the second final round in as many days he was hotter than a firecracker. Rick Newmeyer had other plans. Frech was .031 on the tree to Ricks .020 and was .06 over to Newmeyers .03 over allowing the Plymouth driver to win it all. As a result of winning the race he also was the KB Trailers Buckeye Bounty Hunter winner as John Frech won the previous day and had the bounty on him.

The weekend was rather warm but many racers came out to enjoy a wekend of racing with the Buckeye S/SS Drag Racing Series and the management and staff of Dragway 42.

We hope to see everyone at Quaker City Motorsports Park on Saturday August 1st for the next race of the series.
