Default Clueless

Not sure this the right spot but question about E.T.
If a car makes a normal 1/8 mile pass scoreboard shows 5.50
Same car second pass when he nails the throttle is goes skyward above sixty timer above 330 timer traveling at the same rate of speed lands back down right and through mph and finish line cone what does the scoreboard read?

There is no way to know without more information. One would need data logging of the G's / acceleration through both runs.

If it all happened at same elapsed time would the scoreboard read same et with no 60 or 330?

even if it ran same ET and MPH the incrementals would be wrong...
(as in not the same as the pass before)
Other than that who knows...

Let me rephrase do any cones between start and fishline have any effect of final et and mph? So if you made two identical but the faster car in the other lane took out the 60 and 330 cones would the scoreboard still show the same et and mph?

I was thinking everything between start and finish line were just reference points but not need for scoreboard to read the et and mph. I know the time slip would be screwed up.

You can remove all reflectors except finishline and et will be the same. G Meter for sure or driveshaft counter would verify.

Thanks
So it doesn’t matter what the 60’ timers read from two identical passes are the same.

I didn’t think any of the middle timers mattered for et but my car has been parked several years so I thought I would check. This all sounded better in my head than when I reread it guess I’m going to need to stop listening to those sounds.

You must have never raced at some of the lower level tracks where timing system problems are common. Have raced where the middle timers and suck didn't work, we still bracket raced but it's tougher to dial the car. MPH is figured from the 594' to the 660' in 1/8mi timing, I don't remember the footage in 1/4.
