Default ideas/suggestion wanted about radial sizes

Racers,

It appears I have three valid radial choices for my 1990 Firebird Crate Motor stocker. The weight with driver will be about 3100 pounds, the performance will be about 10.70 et range.

[1] M/T 30 x 9 radial

[2] Hoosier 30 x 9 light weight radial

and since IHRA allows a 10.5 tire
[3] Hoosier 30 x 10.5 radial

So hear is the bottom line, the 30 x 9 will fit with ease, [using a 9" wheel] only needs the correct wheel back spacing. The 30 x 10.5 will require some minor inner wheel well mods but those mods are allowed with IHRA combinations. [using a 10" wheel]

My question, will I see any advantage for the extra work required to use the 10.5 tire? Or, will a 30 x 9 be all the combo will require?
