I'm with you Jeff. I think they messed it up. I liked the previous version.
Might be a bit more slippery.

Forwarded the link to a girl who just bought a 2014. She prefered the earlier years flat/symmetrical tail lights to her "tweaked" rounded/tapered ones but is glad she didn't wait for this 2015 model. She said Mustang sales have been falling every year, that Camaro's are way ahead. True?

Remember this is 2013 not 1969.Also the concerning the Jappy look if I'm not mistaken a lot of the designers for the japanese companies are Americans. If you put a bowtie emblem on a dinosauer turd it would sell good.Just the way the world is.Enough musings for now.

I don't know how any of them are selling. Seems like I see more newer Camaros around here.

This is the 6th Generation under the D2C Ford Platform which I think it shares many components with the Lincoln Division. Ford is working on a new platform for 2017 and maybe 2018 all aluminum construction I was told by someone close to the project and he believe that their competition will be the Hyundai Genesis which if you look at the sport model for 2014 you can see a carbon copy of the rear Mustang fascia. Ford is looking at the Mustang to go on a diet of more than 1900lbs in the next 5yrs, so the exotic materials will be rearing their ugly heads again... Maybe that will be good for racing. Ed how much did a 64 model weigh compare to the 2013 Mustang. Can someone answer what happened to the Mustang that every young blood Fox chassis generation loved and could afford. My daughter just bought a nearly New Convertible(Demo) and the new sticker price was nearly the price of most Banana Republic gross National Dept. Claude

I think if anything, the current 5.0 GT is the closest thing there has been to the original 5.0 days. I bought mine just about as soon as they were available. It was a $28k car. That car has run 10.40s and still has a 100% untouched OEM longblock in it at 3400 lbs. I've done absolutely nothing to the trans except change the converter. Let me be clear, no nitrous/blower/turbo either. You can't even begin to match this kind of performance with a Camaro or Challenger without spending much much more. Yes you can run the price way up on a Mustang with options, but they don't have to be that way. I feel the current car is the best Mustang ever made, and Ford has a tall order measuring up to it with a new one.

A little off topic so please forgive me but I wanted to answer Kdanner, a 1984 Mustang sold in 1984 U.S. price for $6.750 approximately weighed 2530lbs and some were bought for less than $5,500 and but the lowest option model that weighed 2350lbs even with inflation you should be looking at $11.656. far from the $28k car you bought. They've optioned them to death. This is a reason young men are not the biggest buyer of Mustangs it's the women who have been the biggest consumers of over expensive cars.(Please this isn't a women versus men)

At 2530lbs that was what a 2.3L car with 88hp? I just don't see how that compares with the current car well at all. Even the base V6 is 305hp now. I know people who have bought those new in the $18k range. They'll run in the 12s with very minimal work.

Here are some better photos of the 2015 Mustang. I think it will make a cool looking race car.
