Re: Musical Tastes
I almost forgot cowbell...
Toad`s Place in New Haven, Ct. is without a doubt, the most famous music cafe in the state. Dylan, The Stones, Billy Joel, Springsteen, Joe Walsh, Allman Brothers etc etc, all played there. On Feb.15,1983, Mountain opened their set with this. The Stones` Steel Wheels Tour kicked off there in 1989. Re: Musical Tastes
While we're on the subject of New England acts, this folk rock duo has been together for 50 years.. They made several albums on major labels, but never had a hit record, per se.
If you were on the East Coast in the 70's ,and listened to alternative FM music, then you heard this song >

Re: Musical Tastes
Some of the New England bands are pretty obscure by now...Without a Wiki page,..well that tells you something..This band was out of the Amherst scene, I believe. Obviously influenced by The Byrds, Eagles, they did manage to get the second cut here on the radio in the Boston, Hartford, NYC corridor. They never really toured but they played a lot of clubs in the area..

Re: Musical Tastes
Pause for some R&R ;-)
These guys were pretty much a cover band, but played a lot up and down I 91 , from New Haven, thru Hartford, Springfield..They had a loyal following and put on a good show. Their hook line was "Tirebiter..A band you can sink your teeth into"

Re: Musical Tastes
We would visit two other clubs, more often than Toads: The Oxford Ale House and the Arcadia Ballroom. Mostly because Toad`s was usually too crowded and tough parking. The bands at these two New Haven venues were very good, especially the Ballroom. Michael Bolton (Bolotin at that time and a blues/rock singer) was a regular at AB. We were usually pleasantly surprised. This is Hawkins Road doing a Dave Mason cover.

Re: Musical Tastes
Another "near miss" New England band who almost made it big while the Eagles were sucking up all the oxygen.
We used to see them at The Rocking Horse in Hartford. They had quite a well deserved following https://patch.com/connecticut/simsbury/ev--silverado
