Default drag strip measurements ?

needs numbers [in feet] please. from your experience, what you liked, didnt like, what you would do if you could start anew.

Concrete: [bracket cars to Alky dragsters]

how far behind the starting line would you start.
how far past the starting line would you go.
how thick [normal driveway concrete is 3 1/2"]

Asphalt. for 1/8th mile.

how long would the shut down be?
Lanes
how wide are 'normal' lanes?
how wide a space between lanes?

any other thoughts, please include.
thanks Rod in AZ

Default Re: drag strip measurements ?

I have a digital copy of old NHRA Rule Books. The 1958 issue has a design and procedures section with this diagram. I replaced the washed out type for readability and some of the numbers may be off.
