Suggest going WEST on Baltimore Beltway 695 picking up I-95 South. Going west you avoid the Tunnels On I-95 there is a large Rest Area before I-200 after Rt32. Popular Truck Rest area too. Good for parking your Rig. Back on I-95 take the WDC/Maryland Beltway 495/95 to Virginia. The lanes will split...take the LEFT Split. If you make a mistake and take the Right Split. Get into the Left Lane. You will cross over 495 and take the next Clover Leaf. It will put you in the correct Direction on 495/95. As you approach the Potomac River and Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Wonderful view... Next 5 miles or so you will see signs for I-95 South. Caution!! Northern Virginia I-95 sometimes comes to a crawl. Especially when it narrows down from 4 to 3 lanes. I call it the speed of White Knuckle 15 (mph). You are going to be on the Brakes in packed stand still traffic. Impatient drivers will cut in front of you. This even happens at night. Until it gets past Quantico and the on going construction and widening. Lately the traffic has been not as dense because of COVID. Beware some of the Drivers will put a lump in your throat. Hope this information helps Dan Last edited by Dan Fahey; 09-23-2020 at 10:38 AM. |
