You need the covers, no bare alum.

Is this still the Torino 500? Is the front seat bucket or the full bench seat? When I took the stock seats out of my 68 Mustang I had to remove a seat platform to get my Kirkey seats (tried Jegs molded first) to fit with helmet clearance. Wound up fabricating a tubular seat bracket to meet NHRA regs, but I built for SS, not Stock. Pull the seat out and take some measurements to see what you have to work with. The back of a Kirkey is above the top of my helmet. It's a 36 seat and I'm around 5-10 in racing trim.

Yes car came with bench which was removed for roll bar installation and the bench is sitting out behind garage(its been 2 years) I have no idea what to do with it and was going to use the Jegs recommended aluminum seat installation kit https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/702266K/10002/-1 as well as something like this https://www.moroso.com/seat-back-bra...a-tubingc4905/

Wow. Just a covered aluminum seat is $265 and you need two matching ones for Stock.
Here are some Kirkey prices from Summit.

Kirkey 16 Series cover 125 each

Kirkey 16 Series seat 150 each
Kirkey brackets 54 or 70 per pair
Kirkey back brace 45 each
With the extra cost of the harness, I guess it's a wash...

And I wouldn't be surprised if NHRA required them to be replaced every 2 years.

Good morning,
It cost me more then that to recover my original bench seat in my Stocker.
In todays world, with the cars being much faster, a correctly built Alum. seat is way safer. As far as seat covers go, did you ever try to sit in a bare Alum. seat sitting in the sun and heat?
That's my two cents and if I hadn't spent all that money on the bench seat I would have a nice pair of Kirky Alum. buckets in my hot rod now.
Have a good day.

Respectfully,

This is a good point. It's not about your speed it's about the speed and handling of the car chasing you.

Regarding cam buckle harnesses, look at them at the track first and ask to try belting yourself in. Some are not that easy to clip up.

Just for clarification benches dont belong in race cars(My Opinion)... for safety reasons so no chance of it going back in.....
