The old machinist rule: measure twice cut once; and almost right is still wrong!

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Broke a stud off in the intake and had to dig it out. It broke two threads below the surface and damaged those two threads. Straighten the threads with a pocket knife. Got two different ez out kits at Lowe’s that worked very well.

Larry,
The GEN III HEMI is a bear to work on compared to a RB isn't it. |

When Patsy can go racing in the motor home. I'm hoping we can get the Holley system installed in the car and on the Dyno before we go.

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
I’ve been studying the new engine management system from Holley. The first items I’m going to get and test is a backup for every sensor. I would feel very silly to travel 600 to 800 miles to race and have a problem with a $30 sensor.
If two identical air temp sensors vary 3 degrees would I need to change the offset to make the ECU supply the engine with identical A/F and spark of the previous run? Now that I’ve thought about it a faulty O2 could cause all kind of headaches. Last edited by Larry Hill; 03-08-2023 at 08:07 AM. |

How long did it take for you to get your Holley system. I ordered a while ago. Was supposed to ship Monday. Now it reads shipment pending. But if I click on the system I bought. It now reads April 28th ship date. Trying to decide to dyno this thing with the Commander950 Pro system. And make changes if needed. Or wait for my new HP system and harness to get here. Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
With my Holley system, I ordered a complete extra harness. Once you get everything installed and wired in the car, you do not want to have to pull it all out to dyno the engine. Plus, if you carry it in the trailer, it may help if you have problems at the track.
