Re: 2023 632 Copo
Its all Holley EFI, no grids are needed in a copo. This is an issue with NHRA and their HP factoring system. Guys at my shop constantly try to understand our rules and reasonings behind the HP factors of the combos out there, specifically the fuel injected cars. They are confused why the LSA's or the LS7's arent legal but a COPO is. These LS engines are mass produced in showroom vehicles that make 550-700 HP out of the box and we can't get them into the guide simply because they wouldn't fit a realistic class without being weighing a ton. Yet, a 632 COPO that makes close to 1,000, lets say even at 800, and is rated at 575? Thats laughable. If we want to entice more of a younger crowd, these COPO's arent the ticket. NHRA has to get the cars that are seen on the road, i.e CTSV's, supercharged corvettes, newer camaro's, and played with at all these performance shops, in the guide and let the new generation of racers get involved. Yes, the 632 COPO is awesome, I saw it at PRI. But the average guy walking around doesn't have 6 figures to drop on a racecar...atlease not all at once, lol.
