Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
When we get the block touch honed we’ll have new set of pistons just in case the piston to wall gets a little to much. I’m sure glad we got parts when they were available.

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
We made some progress this weekend by speaking with people that are willing to help us get better.
How difficult could it be to get the good air in, the bad air out, and in between add fuel and light the fire? |

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Maybe some day we'll all learn that trick!

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Another bump in the road for Dumbo. I’m trying to get our new, to us, trailer ready to go to the Columbus.

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Pulled a few pistons out and was pleasantly surprised on how well the bearings looked. One set looked like they were just oily no distortion on the finish. Piston skirts with very little trash in them, maybe it’s the roller lifters helping to keep the cam trash to a minimum.

Not working on Dumbo but working on the pink car. Trying to improve on track performance. We shall see.

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
We changed rod bearings last time to a different brand and it has seem to greatly reduce the micro welding of the shell to the bore of the rod.
Purchased a Harbor Freight 1/2 ton engine stand what a disappointment. Instead of the engine with a nose up angle it’s a prominent nose down position. Not a good product. I know, I know, what did I expect! |

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Larry,
You might be happier with this one: https://www.harborfreight.com/automo...and-69522.html Perhaps they would let you return the one you have and trade up to this one. However you will have to double your investment. Investment may be a bad choice of words. We have a mutual racing friend who says that any money spent on drag racing is not a good investment! Bill |
