'06 Dodge Ram Diesel Dually 3500

Just bought a used truck to get my happy a*s to the race track, otherwise I was gonna be watching from home.

I know that the truck needs an oil change now, planning to change it tonight before I peel out for Orlando tomorrow after work, but a quick question:

How many miles can one of these trucks go on an oil change? Just need to know so I know what to set the mileage counter to and when to prepare to change it again. Truck has 220,000 miles on it at this time.

I change my diesel oil every 7000 miles. That said, I’m sure you will get 100 different answers. Maybe best to Google what your engine and manufacturer recommends and go from there.

What Keith said, I always used Rotella 15W-40 but opinions vary wildly. Just be sure to change the fuel filter every other oil change. The Cummins 5.9 is an awesome workhorse.

So I've heard, hoping this ole truck can go another 100k! Just had a trans rebuild too so hopefully won't have any issues there
