Default Results from Kil Kare

Results from the August 22nd race at Kil Kare Gathering of the Geezers.

There were 52 entries that came to the annual event to compete with the Buckeye Stock/Super Stock Drag Racing Series.

The Mid Ohio Paving Dial for Dollars was won by Brad Ross driving his SS/GT '68 Barracuda. Brad was dialed 10.25 and ran a10.2503 to claim the $100. He was also the recipient of the Best First Round Losing Package presented by Parsons & Myers Racing Engines of Dayton. He had a .042 reaction and ran 10.258 on his 10.25 for the losing effort. Another $100 was paid to Brad.

Eliminations proceeded with many great racers making the call. About 2/3 way through the first round rain came and put it to a stop. Track officials made it clear that we had plenty of time to dry the track and get the race in. After about a 2 1/2 hour wait we were back at it.

Picking up the action in the semi finals there were three Mopars and one Chevrolet. Craig Dawson's Dodge Aspen N/SA was matched with Al Ross' FGT/L '73 Challenger. Ross was -.003 red allowing Dawson to take the win. The other match was Ed McCormack's "Bossa Nova" H/SA against the FGT/N '09 Challenger of Jeff Ross. Again a redlight decided the outcome with McCormack pulling the trigger -.011 early.

The final round was the Dawson Dodge Aspen and the "Dodge Fever" of Jeff Ross. Dawson was dialed 12.62 and Ross 10.51. Dawson left first with a .0255 light as Ross waited over two seconds and redlighted with a -.0132 leave. Both drivers ran it out as Dawson ran 12.632 to the Challengers 10.5091.

Special "Hats Off " to the crew and management at Kil Kare Dragway for providing a awesome race track to race on as well as the determination to complete this race. Thank You.

Our next race is at Quaker City Motorsports Park on Saturday September 12th. Racers still have one more chance to get qualified for the 2020 Championship Runoff .See you there.
