Default Trans brake 350 turbo

I have a 350 turbo in 85 camaro with pro cube delay box, in the pro stage mode the trans brake doesn't hold or react fast enough any ideas? The trans brake works fine in Super pro because brake has enought time to lock.

Most 350 brakes are relativly slow releasing. the quickest one I have anyone using is from Coan. It is fine for S/ST .500 pro tree, but will probably only be a .040/.060 player on the .370 tree in S/G.....I've had a few trans customers down this road , if you are trying to run S/G ,and want to be competitive,it's time for a Glide. ... If your car is heavy, consider using a 1.87 lo gear. ..ATI offers them in the 1.76 carrier.. ........ Tom

I think what he means is that the trans brake is not engaging quick enough. I think this problem is kind of inherant of 350's. I've ran a couple of them. This is how I cured the problem. When bumping in with the brake pedal engage the transbrake each time you take a bump. In other words, transbrake and footbrake at the same time, each bump. This solved the problem for me, however I was running no-box and didn't have any delay. Delay would make it a little tougher to do. A throttle stop would make it darn near impossible. If the piston in your transbrake silenoid is adjustable, lengthening it would also help (once too long the car will back up). Also could try bringing you RPM up when staging.

.010 in timer 1
2.50 in timer 2
shift at 3.50
1500 rpm downpower should get you close.

So you don't think getting into high gear before you go wide open will work? I was told to get into high gear before you go wide open.

I have 2 cars that run 9.50 in s/st trim and I shift both cars after full power. The only time I wont is if I think the track is junk. I have found the car more consistent this way. What throttle stop are you using? air or electric? I use dedenbear electric with no problem.

so is the general opinion here that a TH350 with a brake is not the best way to go for S/ST?
