Default Suspension Question

Hey guys. I have a 72' Nova and ive been having alot of problems getting it to launch, and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to set it up. I currently have monoleaf springs, slide-a-links and QA1 drag shocks. i set the traction bars up just like the directions said, and i got it running consistant 1.60 on my 60', but i switched my tires from mickey thompson drag radials to hoosier qtp's, and i cant get it to stop wheel hopping. ive played with the tire pressure, shocks, and reset my traction bars, and nothing helps. i cant seem to get lower than a 1.68 or so on my 60'. If anyone has any tips or advice im all ears.

The Hoosier's might have too soft a compound for the weight of the car.

Thumbs up Re: Suspension Question

Go back to the Mickeys and see if it works again, then you have piece of mind!

How much air? I wouldn't go less than 14psi. The slide-a-links I'd tighten up, no gap on the cushions. Loosen the shocks let them stretch out. A friend has a 72 Nova with split mono leaf suspension and slide-a-links. Using Hoosier DOT radials and loves them. Sixty foot numbers are low 1.60's.

I talked to my Nova friend you maybe stretching the shocks completely out and unloading the rear suspension. He put on extensions on the shocks and fixed his car.

I use calvert Split Mono Leaf 2000 200lb. - 225lb. spring rates available.and a four link set up witch is not ajustable and I use Competition Engineering's ANTI-ROLL BAR Universal Application (C2041)that i custom fit to the frame also a set of Competition Engineering's 3-Way Adjustable Drag Shocks (C2600). All said and done in a 1970 Nova with a 383 small block 29x15x9 Hossier tire at 10lbs I have consistant 1.55 60ft times good luck.
