Default 07/16 & 07/17 Farmington Races #4, #7, & #8

Normally when you hear of a triple, it's in ⚾️, but this time it's in CCRA-Carolina Class Racers Association. That's right, July 16th & 17th at Farmington Dragway, we will be running 2 races on Saturday & one on Sunday. The 2nd Saturday race is from the Sunday makeup race from Farmington earlier this year. With the rising ⛽️ costs, it only makes sense for us to make up that race this way. Time runs will begin at 10 am on Saturday & we plan to roll through the day. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!!!

PS... it's also Dell Britt's birthday!! 🎂 🍨

To those who said it couldn't be done, don't ever challenge 2 crazy, drag race loving girls, challenge accepted=challenge COMPLETED!!!

Farmington Dragway Race 7 & 4 Results:

We did 2 raffles on Saturday morning for $200.00 to be awarded back to the winner. Homer Carty & Ray Bunton were the lucky winners there. Mr. Monnie Morris in his Ford Maverick took the Saturday Race #1 Warren Engines sponsored Dash for Cash earning himself a $100 & 1st round bye eligibility. He was dialed 8.64 & ran 8.641 @ 77.25 mph. We had 36 cars make 1st round. Jim Marshall in his Chevy Camaro took the Victory Lane Golf Carts 1st Round Best Losing Package. He was dialed a 7.05, had a .0247 RT, & ran 7.0662 @ 94.16 mph. Joel Warren got 5 gallons of Renegade Race Fuels & Lubricants PRO 112+ racing fuel for his 2nd Round Best Losing Package sponsored by Ford's Fuel and Propane. Joel was dialed a 6.25, had a .0172 RT, & ran a 6.2467 @ 107.86 mph. In the semi-finals, Dell Britt lost to event runner-up Don Shuford. Dell had a .0395 RT, dialed 6.97, & ran dead on his dial 6.9752 @ 95.64 mph to take the tough loss. Josh Barczy in the Flintstone Chevy II, making his first CCRA-Carolina Class Racers Association appearance for the 2022 season collected himself a Eagle trophy for his win against Don. Josh had told us earlier in the day that he had every other kind of trophy there was but he didn't have an Eagle & today he was getting himself one & that's exactly what he did! In the finals, Josh was behind on the tree with his .0469 RT to Don's .0161 RT but Josh posted a 5.8900 on his 5.89 dial to capture the victory. Don broke out running 6.5355 on his 6.54 dial. Mike Moller received the Auto Plus Service Center Paul Bunyan Award (Best RT) for his .0002 in 3rd round of competition. For this race, we changed up the Hard Luck Award & altered it to the Sportsmanship Award courtesy of McLawhorn Racing. This award went to Korey Alexander for his sportsmanship waiting on his opponent, Joel Warren, in the 1st round. Joel left an important necessity at his trailer & Korey didn't want to take a win like that. Kudos Korey & honestly I wouldn't expect any less out of him!!!!

At 7:23 p.m., we staged up our 1st set of cars for Saturday Race #2. The Warren Engines Dash for Cash had been completed on our original 04/03/22 date with Brian Oakes winning that. First round, we had 32 cars make the call. Mike Moller in his "Slow Ride" got the Victory Lane Golf Carts 1st Round Best Losing Package. He was dialed 8.65, had a .0107 RT, & ran 8.6740 @ 76.48 mph. Kevin Locklear left with 5 gallons of Renegade Race Fuels & Lubricants PRO 112+ for his 2nd Round Best Losing Package courtesy of Ford's Fuel and Propane. Kevin was dialed 6.85, had a .0048 RT, & ran a 6.8802 @ 97.15 mph for the tough loss. John Lattimore & Don Shuford (Saturday Race #1 runner-up) were our semi-finalists. John went up against Greg Viscome & Don went -.0027 against Joel Warren. Joel Warren after having to replace his battery right before the finals was victorious over Greg Viscome. The finals were completed right at 10 p.m. Joel had the best reaction time of the entire race in the finals, which also put him claiming the Auto Plus Service Center Paul Bunyan award for his .0013. Prior to this, Joe Collins held onto it with his .0019 RT in Round 1. Joel dialed a 6.22 & ran a 6.2533 @ 101.69 mph to capture the win. Greg choose the wrong time to be late on the tree in the finals as he was .08585, dialed 7.85, & ran a 7.8793 at 85.62 mph. Josh Barczy received the McLawhorn Racing Hard Luck award for Race #2 after having a wire come off his coil following his burnout in Round 3.

Sunday's race was rained out after completing Dash for Cash. Homer Carty won the Warren Engines sponsored Dash for Cash. He ran a 6.2206 on his 6.22 dial & had a .0176 RT. This race will be made up at a later date. More info will be coming.

August 6th & 7th is our next race weekend at KDS Motorsports. More details will be coming soon on that race. See y'all at the track soon!!!
