16 Volt Battery
I'd like to put a 16V battery in my car. I run Dedenbear delay box (the old CO2 model) and thottle stop controller. I also have an ACD air shifter and a MSD dist and 6AL2 box. Well these be OK with the 16V? Thanks Robbie

Re: 16 Volt Battery
Robbie,
I've been using 16 volt Batteries for as long as I can remember - maybe 15 years or so. They won't efect anything your using currently including the the 7AL2 which I currently have. Just Charge them between runs with the Master off. They will go quite a few rounds without charging at all !

Re: 16 Volt Battery
Robbie,
I run ROCK 16v. Hvae since 2008. When I switched I called the companies and asked. Most said everything produced in the las 10 years was compatible(keep in mind that was 08). You should be fine, and like Chuck said keep the charged. Chip |

Re: 16 Volt Battery
If you have an East Coast Alternator, they will update it to 16V for $125. They did mine at th beginning of the year. The turn around was fast, too. ALWAYS put the charger on the car between rounds, even if it's only for 10 min.

Re: 16 Volt Battery
Robbie,
I don't use an alternator. I do try to keep batteries fully charged but if you get in a round robim situation you will be fine. I made 6 passes before with no charge. I do run 2 Rock batteries, no alternator and a belt drive pump. On other thing make sure eveything has the proper relays. When I first switched I burnt up a Summit cooling fan. It did'nt have a relay on it though. Put one on and never had another issue. Chip |

Re: 16 Volt Battery
speaking of the 14 volt battery. Since it requires a dedicated charger and alternator you may as well do the 16 volt package. The 16 volt deal is very good, once you try, you will always buy
And like Chip posted, my experience with Rock Battery's bought from Mark Payne is very positive [no pun intended] These comments are grounded in experience.
