Trailer lights and plugs no power

Hello everyone,

I moved over to Comp Eliminator this year (hope you won’t hold that against me) on this s and SS forum lol. I have a 2016 Continental Cargo 28’ trailer I bought about 6 months ago. All the exterior lights work, running lights, turn, brake etc. inside it has about 6 small round lights running along the ceiling on a switch. They all work. Under the cabinets is a 4’ light on it’s own switch and it works. On each side is two small lights on a switch and they work. Now at the top of both trailer walls is two 5’ lights on they’re own switch nothing no power. Trailer has 3 plug outlets on the inside and two on the outside nothing no power. I hate electrical and never have learned enough about it (my fault). I checked the breaker box and both were in the on position not tripped. I tried resetting and that didn’t work. The breaker box has one labeled for plugs and one for the lights. As I mentioned most of the lights work just not the 4 running at the top is the ceiling. Appreciate any help.

Sounds like the lights that are working are DC powered and the two 5' and outside outlets are AC without any power.

make up a short cord just a footer so with a male plug connector on each end --plug one end into an extension cord and into a working 110 wall outlet plug the other end into a 110 outlet in the trailer ( you are back feeding 110 power into the trailer) see if the lights work---- as a previous poster suggested those 5 foot lites might be 110 and not 12 volt--also take test lite and see if you have power to the switch might also be a bad switch

Like the others have said, you may have a separate "shoreline" 115 V system for some lighting and power outlets. My Wells Cargo is setup this way, it has a seperate power cord that can be plugged into a generator or to house or garage power. Does you trailer have a power cord like that? On mine, I had to buy a special plug from a RV store to adapt the trailers shoreline plug to normal household connection. On my trailer, the shoreline cable is wired into the trailers circuit panel.

Sounds like those interior lights are fed by a 110V circuit, especially if they are florescent fixtures. There has to be a breaker panel located somewhere inside the trailer (possibly in the back of one of the cabinets?) that controls that circuit or at the very least a step-up inverter to provide the 110 volts. While it doesn't happen very often, I've seen wires severed by interior paneling screws. As was mentioned above, there should be a male receptacle, possibly under a weatherproof cover, that provides the AC power to the trailer.

Ok I will. I can’t find a 110 male plug anywhere in the trailer. I’ll get a photo. Thanks

thats a 50 amp rv plug, you can get an adapter 50 to 15 amp at a rv stove .plug into a 120 outlet and you should have pover to your outlets

Get an RV adapter pigtail. 50A-125/250V to 15A-125V then your 120V panel will be powered up.
