Going to Baton Rouge?
Anybody here going? If so, does anybody know, or know how to find out, where the holding lot is located? I can't find it on ihra.com (big suprise) nor State Capitol's website.
Thanks, Ed

Re: Going to Baton Rouge?
Did you try contacting the track via phone?

Re: Going to Baton Rouge?
Jimmy, I didn't. I'll try that tomorrow at work. I was given Frank Kohutek's email address, so I just emailed him also. I'll post the location when I find out. I would have thought State Capitol's website would have that, but I couldn't find it.
Thanks! Ed

Re: Going to Baton Rouge?
At statecapitoldragway.com if you click contact on the upper right of your screen it gives you the phone and fax number as well as an email address to the track manager Gary Carter.

Re: Going to Baton Rouge?
Sharon from IHRA just emailed me, they haven't secured permission for the use of their "favorite" (her term) spot yet. She says it will be on IHRA.com as soon as they know.
Thanks, Ed

Re: Going to Baton Rouge?
I had thought of going instead of Orlando. But with no contingency postings to amount to much how can a racer afford to go except if they are local?

Re: Going to Baton Rouge?
As a follow up on IHRA contingency my comparison--Pro Am in S/S $400 available--National event $2100---Nhra Divisional $3100-----National $13800---Down almost 20 decals for National events---and still not paid for all from 08.

Re: Going to Baton Rouge?
I love to do what my heart says Danny. But ,for the most part, can only do what my bank account allows. I used to race locally when I had to win to buy gas to get home. Just like alot of other people in years past I went the extra mile to race somewhere. Today is a differentdeal. I'm going to skip Baton Rouge because I can't afford to go. I have been there before and know it will be a great time. I'll have to wait for Budds Creek or Rockingham. It's a shame the contingency program fell so fast and hard. An 80-90% cut is really steep.

Re: Going to Baton Rouge?
For those of you coming to state capitol raceway in baton rouge, the google map location on the ihra website is incorrect as of today. It shows the location on la. Hwy. 1 south near brusly, la. The track is on us hwy. 190 west, and it's actually closer to erwinville, la., approx. 1 1/2 miles east of erwinville, la. The address on google is correct just the location marker is wrong. I checked map quest and it was correct. I have been the track chaplain at scr for the past 20+ years and look forward to seeing you all here. Craft
