Car count in Belle Rose
Looks like even NHRA couldn't keep the cars away from Belle Rose for the Cajun Sports nationals. 95 stockers and 70 super stockers. Congratulations Pat, you put on a helluva race.

Re: Car count in Belle Rose
Primary reason for the good car count.....because its Pats track and because of the way he treats his racers. Cant say as much for most of the other tracks.

Wish we'd been able to make it, but it just wasn't in the cards.

Re: Car count in Belle Rose
Its killing me. ....not being there....but I just couldn't do it......this year...my partners are both there.....
The car count was probably caused by Terry's pro NHRA posts..... Rock Haas |

Re: Car count in Belle Rose
Let's get one thing straight right now, this race is Pat's dream, not NHRA's. They just jumped on the band wagon because it was so successful. Jim

Re: Car count in Belle Rose
Almost 11:00 p.m. here, and I'm dragging butt, but I just wanted to thank all of the supporters of our SportsNational event. Car count is up from 452 to 476, plus another 26 motorcycles, bringing the total entries over 500. The weather is absolutely perfect, and the CIC race tomorrow should be exciting. Posted winner purse is $1,400.00.
Got everybody parked without a problem, and the track is hooking great. Best wheelstand goes to Gary Emmons who stood it on the bumper in the class finals, and carried the wheels over 200 feet out! I think I heard him hit 3rd gear while still in the air. Got to get some rest. Pat |

Re: Car count in Belle Rose
Come on guys... Let's give NHRA some credit for allowing us to have some fun. They allowed us to pay class winners, set national event records, and compete for national event points without the Pros or Alcohol cars.
Eric Lotz of NHRA marketing, and our D-4 director Craig Hutchenson gave me and my staff everything I asked for from them. But it is because of the support from the racers that this event is the envy of many. We packed in the spectators, stuffed down the food, drank the refreshments for a full week. Someone told me to check the a.s.l. of the track... thinking that it must have sank at least a foot lower with all of the rigs we had stacked in here. Car count over 500 this year. We couldn't have done it without you guys. Thanks from all of the Cajuns. |
