Ultrasonic cleaner for small parts

I am in the market for an Ultrasonic cleaner with a tank large enough for a Holley carb body, throttle plate, fuel bowels, other small automotive parts.

Does anyone on this board use such a cleaner? Size and brand recommendation?

Amazon sells several that work great. Just make sure you use the right cleaning solution.

Ultrasonics,LLC. They have one big enough to put a Dominator in. They also have the cleaner.

Branson 5200 is big enough to hold a Holley center section. L&R Quantrex 5280 is about the same size. We use them for cleaning small parts. Some of the ultrasonics also have heaters, these don’t.

Never thought of this before. Will it clean dirt, grease, and grime, rust? Will machine need cleaning as the sediment I'm sure fall to bottom of container.

As an aside, I began looking for alternate carb cleaning methods because my wife has serious complaints about the old-timey carb dip solutions. And I agree. It smells to high heaven and takes days to dissipate.

It will not wash off, and it wears off over several days.

I bought one to clean up a pair of WCFB for a 283 245hp street setup and it works good.

Tried Simple Green and also aircraft grade simple green, both mixed down with water and both seemed to provide the same cleaning.

Tip - pull the parts out right when the timer cuts out and blow the parts off with air. If they sit in the basket too long the particles suspended in the cleaner solution will land back on the parts.
Also, I would run the larger carb body parts a few times rotating the part upside down and other angles as that seems to clean better.

Get one with the solution heater, it may take a few cycles like I mentioned, but the heat does help break down the dirt.

Plan on draining and cleaning out the tub after every 3-5 cycles as the water will get very dark.

I purchased this model 4 years ago. It has 4 transducers, adjustable heater, and holds 2.5 gallons.

It has worked well and I've had no issues. I use it for cleaning transmission bolts and other small transmission parts while the larger parts are going around in my jet spray cabinet. I use the same Zep chemical in the ultrasonic cleaner that I use in the large jet spray cabinet. I have used this to clean carbs as well. What I have found is using my soda blast cabinet works well to clean a carb prior to running through the ultrasonic cleaner. As mentioned by someone else, once the cycle is complete, remove the items from the cleaner. If you don't, the suspended particles will fall and attach themselves back onto your parts.
