Randy, he's what you and I would call an intellectual. He probably has some kind of a useless degree from a liberal arts university that took his parents money, brainwashed him by teaching him some kind of "non-realistic" reality and told him that he's now smart. Intellectual. That's why he spends most of his time in his one-room apartment in Philly and tries to stay stoned, it's the only way he can perpetuate his reality.
