Default Re: So.. Why aren't RACERS trying to set National records!?

Is anyone voicing their concerns to their SRAC representatives?
Getting away from promoting classes where performance really does matter is not the direction to go. There are and always will be complainers & critics but at the end of the day the appeal of the heads-up runs, class eliminations and setting records is what matters to so many of us.
Teardowns are part of it and the way to show everyone that you are not just legal, that taking it apart is no problem. I remember racers bragging about how fast they could get it done. S&SS Class racers have always been the Big Dogs, those who don't like it can just stay on the porch. The record breakers section in National Dragster was always where everyone looked to see who was running with the Big Dogs.

^^ in bold says it all.

They publish that Magazine 12 times a year but cannot find at least one page every 3 months to post the current records.

However, there is always plenty of room to post up black and white ( full page ) grainy pics of an event that happened over 60 years ago.
Just an observation....

It was fun while it lasted.

8 National e.t. records in a span of 28 months with the car.
It wasn't " The Big Go " but I did get to experience at least one tear down in the barn there at a Nat. Open.

Would be nice to do it again but since NHRA does not publish the results anymore it doesn't feel the same
