Default SGMP will be fast

Have you seen the weather for Friday and Saturday? If you want to set a record, this divisional race is where you want to be.

Could be fast if the humidity is not real high. Also that track faces north and we could see a pretty good head wind with a strong front like that. Calling for some rain on Thursday

"Some rain" on Thursday? More like 100% The high for the weekend doesn't get above 56 until Sunday! Lows of 27-36 every night. The minimum track temp for a NHRA event is 60. Am I the only one worried about that safety factor let alone the severe ambient temps and wind factor? I hope everyone, including NHRA is considering all the factors here. Jim

Is that minimum track temp published somewhere? I get it, especially with some of the crazy fast cars, just never seen that in print. D3 would have to scrub October if that was the case there.

Heard it announced several times over the PA at the Gators. Guess it's up to Rich in the end. I have seen some terrible wrecks due to cold weather track temps!

With some of the crazy fast Stockers and Super Stockers in the past few years, 160mph on 9" tires with a 60 degree track is just asking for it! Think about it! Jim

Looks like Saturday and Sunday will be the best days. Clear skies should warm the track substantially. Thursday will be rain. 90% right now but that doesn't mean it will rain all day long. Friday is partly cloudy. SGMP has some of the best pit area of any of the D2 tracks. I don't see them cancelling the race due to the colder weather.
