Default Stahl Headers

Just an FYI for the Nostalgia guys or anybody else interested, although I didn't speak to Mr. Stahl himself, a couple of guys in the shop assured me that Stahl is still in the header building business! They still have their old jigs and if they were asked to they could build new sets of the good old, hard to find, Jr. Stock fenderwell types or anything else you might need. They also have a good stock of flanges, collectors and tubing.

That's good to know...came across their website looking for a application list and pricing on the headers being offered. http://www.stahlheaders.com/

They're in a little bit of a state of flux right now, I'd call about what you're interested in!

Bought a set of headers for the Chevelle last year...going to follow up with an order for some additional pieces soon. Not only can they make the Nostalgia stuff...they can make headers for most applications and always had an emphasis on the class-type stuff...and also they make some "engine-swap" headers as well.

But I would call first...I thought they were going to sell some of their tooling...HEY...if you're in the market for some new headers...or even some pieces...give them a SHOUT ! I'm sure they would appreciate that!

I've swapped emails with Jere, but not talked to him on the phone. Last we spoke on the phone, Jere was still going to sell all the pieces in weld up kits, he just wasn't going to sell complete finished headers.

I don't know that he ever found anyone who would buy enough of the business for him to sell it. He was always going to keep the tubing bender and sell pre-bent tubing and parts to the buyer of the jigs and other property.

60's and early 70's were wearing a set of Stahl Headers...

Jere Stahl is a very interesting person for sure.

If you look up the word character and I think you will see a picture of him.

He marches to the beat of a different drummer for sure.

Opinionated would be putting it in a nice way.

I remember when Dick Moroso went to work for him in the mid 60's and that lasted about 1 1/2 to 2 years before they split.

What do you mean exactly...do you know if they are open year round for business, or do they just do 'special jobs' on request...does he have anyone working for him to weld up any header orders that come in, or is that why he sells them as header kits.

That was a bad choice of words to say the least! They are open every day, they have people waiting to build headers for new stuff or old. Sorry for any mixup.

Thumbs up Re: Stahl Headers

I still have the set of Stahl Headers that I ran on my SS small block Demon back in the day, 32 years old. They are in great shape, not coated, VHT painted only, and to this day zero rust! I can't figure that out! Jim
