Here's an aerial view of the facility. The music event is being held to the South of the race track (the extreme lower left edge of the picture). The racer entrance is from the North, the music event fans will enter from the South. So with the exception of some of the music fans buying a pass to come over and check out the racing, the track is treating this as separate events.

Mini Woodstock? In Iowa?

Maybe call it 'Cornstock' ???

Alan - Don't assume the Midwest is incapable of Woodstock-type debauchery. Ask any of us who've been around a while about the incident at The Zoo, many years ago, where the bottomless, totally inebriated teenage girl was "displayed" for the crowd. Suffice it to say that prior to that event, only her gynecologist had seen more detail. Just a bunch of innocent Minnesota farm boys and girls having a good time.

As I recall, that's exactly what many of the inhabitants of The Zoo said at the time...

Before everybody goes off the deep end! The 712 Boom Music Festival is going on at
the south end of the OREC facility separate from the drag strip. Now lets get back to why MCR sponsors these races (with the help of some realy good marketing partners). OREC has invited us to have this race at there new all cement race track and we hope to leave a good impression and grow with them in the future! So I hope we have a good turn out and show not only the race track but also that 18 something crowd (712 Boom)how excellent of a show we are capable of. Remember the Money is outstanding thanks to Midwest Factory Finishes Bonus Program(thanks Charlie). and Thanks to OREC for allowing us to race at your fine facility!

Didn't, in any way, mean to do anything but relate a humorous (almost unbelievable) story, in response to the question "Woodstock, in Iowa?" Just wanted to show that when you get a bunch of crazy drunks/stoners, together with live music, in a festive atmosphere (just like what happened at Woodstock) literally anything can happen. I support everything the Stock/Super Stock Association does, and wouldn't ever say anything disparaging. Also, appreciate what the OREC folks are trying to do for racers.

Been there several times with the Hemi car. Track, facility, staff are all great...you won't be disappointed.

Looking forward to seeing a lot of cars this weekend, although my S10 wont pass for S/S.

They do have a decent PA system, but you can only hear it to about the scoreboards. The radio station should be functional.

If youre coming from the south, take the Blencoe exit, then go north ALL the way to the Welcome to Onawa city sign. That is the north entrance.
DO NOT enter from the south entrance,....it is a gravel road and not much room, if any, to turn around.

Dont let the lack of grass fool you. The dust is relatively minimal. You may want to bring a mat/pitmat to park on if you expect to be working around or under the car.
